"And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." - Colossians 3:17

    On September 24, 1996, in response to a lecture I heard at a Bible study, I wrote in my journal:

    "I know I have the ability to paint... I don't know how good I am, but I know that this ability is a gift.

    "I want it to be more than just painting with natural talent. I want to capture the feelings... pain, suffering, joy, distress, love, etc. of Christ and the people He encountered. I know this can only be done with God's power.

    "And so, Lord, I'm asking You that if it be Your will, You would empower me to do so."

    For the next few years, I kept praying about this calling and mentioned it hesitatingly to a few others (for fear they would hold me accountable), while I raised our two preschoolers.

    Needless to say, preschoolers grow up and go to school. And so, in January of 2000 (with gentle prodding from friends who held me accountable), I decided the time was right to begin training to develop my skills. I enrolled in the Bougie Studio and was fortunate to receive excellent training from Peter Bougie, Brian Lewis, and in my final year, Stephen Gjertson. Upon finishing my training in May 2003, my husband and I added a studio onto our home and began this ministry.

    I am blessed that my husband provides for all our family's financial needs. Consequently, I am able to give away 100% of the profits from my work. God has blessed us abundantly... may He also bless you!
